Customer Car Feature: Tim's Z32 Evolution
Share
We always get excited when we see our products out in the wild—especially when they’re part of a build as cool as this one. Today’s customer car feature comes from Tim, who has turned his 1990 Nissan 300ZX into a boosted, beautiful street machine. Packed with performance upgrades, visual flair, and yep - one of our autotun3D cup holders custom made for his Z32. This Z is a perfect mix of speed and style.
From NA to Twin Turbo and Beyond
Tim's Z started life as a naturally aspirated manual, but that didn't last long. In the summer of 2008, it got the twin turbo treatment. Of course, the stock turbos didn’t love their new job for long and promptly gave up, so the engine came back out later that year for round two.
Once the car was making around 350 horsepower at the wheels, Tim decided “fast enough” wasn’t fast enough. He threw in bigger injectors, a free-flowing exhaust setup, and other go-fast goodies before heading to Z1 for a proper tune. The result? A solid 449 WHP at 17.5 psi. Not bad for a street car!
Visual Boost
In 2012, Tim turned his attention to the outside. The car got a full TwinZ Type 1 body kit paired with Kaminari side skirts, and the engine bay got cleaned up to match. Two years later, it was resprayed in the factory-fresh OEM Aztec Red, and every piece of exterior trim and molding was replaced with OEM parts. The car’s been turning heads ever since.
